Welcome to the world of classical, jazz, rock, and blues music brought to you by a groovy cellist!
Welcome to my Groovy page for wayward, seeking cellists. You have found your home. I started playing cello at age 10 through the public school system in Maryland. I didn't even know what a cello was when I started but the instrument immediately spoke to me. it became my voice.
As a child of the 60's , music was exploding all around me. I didn't want to only play classical music, I wanted to play the sounds that I heard all around me and in my head.
I listened to Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Joni Mitchell, John Coltrane, Louis Armstrong, Muddy Waters.... as well as Bach and Beethoven. I went to the public libraries to borrow records, went to jazz jams in downtown Washington DC, took lessons from jazz players.
At this point in my life, I want to share this music and knowledge with you, the cellist ... but also the listener and music lover.
Feel free to stroll around the website, listen to some music, buy an arrangement or two. Make yourself at home.
Be blessed.
Peace
